WATCH: George Takei Praises Justin Trudeau, Says Laws Need To Change

By on August 23, 2013 – On Friday, American actor George Takei, best known for playing Hikaru Sulu in the Star Trek television series, shared his thoughts on the Liberal Leader’s recent pot confession with The Morning Show.

Justin Trudeau opened up the day before about his history of marijuana use, saying he had tried it five or six times in his life. Most recently, three years ago with friends at a dinner party.

Despite facing criticism from members of opposing parties, including Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Trudeau’s sincerity seemed to impress Takei.

“I think it serves Canada well to have a politician who can be known for his honesty and forthrightness.”

Takei also commented on the prohibition of marijuana, stating that “laws need to change to fit the times.”
